A New Life

Long Hair and Herbal Tea

rain 15 °C

Well. It's been a while. The thing is, towards the end of last year I became really depressed. I couldn't find anything that would pull me out of where I was. I felt terrible all the time.

Since then though, alot has changed. After spending a fantastic new year on Stockton beach, just north of Newcastle with some of my favorite people in the world, I returned to work at Unwired. I couldn't handle the coldness of the corporate world.
I never said anything to the people at my world about it, but they knew. Soon I developed insomnia, and mixed with the depression, it mean my immune system became kinda useless.

Then it happened, glandular fever. I was bed-ridden for two weeks and I don't think I have ever been that miserable in my life. I went and stayed with my folks in Bathurst for a week, because I literally didn't have the energy to look after myself. One day, i woke up in the morning, and wrote an email to Unwired, telling them I resign.

A few weeks later, after the majority of my symptoms were gone, I enrolled into a Bachelor of Naturopathy at Nature Care College in Sydney. Now I am studying hard, and happier than ever. I am not working at the moment though, so the money thing can be a bit of a pain. Also, I moved out of Newtown. I now live in Annandale, which is nice, but not as nice an area as Newtown.

I still have a little fatigue from the glandular fever, but I am feeling much better.

I finish my first term in two weeks, and hopefully, after that, I will have many more amazing photos and stories to share.

That's right I'm Back!

Wednesday Update - Where have I been?

A month as a hermit

overcast 16 °C

Due to lack of funds and a whole lot of crazy problems that have kept popping up, I have not really done a whole lot over the last month. Thank you monthly pay check! But, after my pay comes through this month, I have very strong intentions of spending all my money on new and exiting things.
This whole blog is really about me trying to be more passionate about my life, and this month, I have relapsed into lazy apathy. But soon (when I have money), I will get back on track and go crazy in this big beautiful city!

Drunk and Stupid

sunny 28 °C

This weekend was well and truly the trashiest weekend that I have had in a long time. Friday night took me to Jackson's on George, where the company I used to work for; 3 Minute Angels, was having a party in memory of all the good things the company had done. I got to see some people that I haven't seen since leaving the Angels and get back in touch with some great friends. After getting kicked out of Jacksons we ended up at Purple Sneakers at Broadway, and kept drinking until about four in the morning, where we stumbled down King Street and into my friend's bed for the night.

The next day, I got some work done around the house, and then headed up the road for a party at the Courthouse hotel. There were two parties there that I was invited to; my friend Or's going away party, and my roomate Tom's 20th birthday. Both parties were great fun, but I spent most of my time at Or's. After the courthouse shut we headed down to the Zanzibar. I ran into a girl in the street who had been knocked out when a guy kicked her in the head. After she woke up we sat with her until her brother came to pick her up.

I was pretty shaken up after seeing the girl, but I headed into the Zanzibar where everyone was well and trully pissed. After a couple of "filthy" martinis, we headed up to Istanbul on King to get some food. The details after this are a little confused, but I ended up at home at about 5 am.

The next day, I stayed at home and did some reading and cleaning, and generally had a quiet day at home. I went over to say my final goodbyes to Or on Sunday night, it was sad, but I know we'll meet again in the future, maybe here, or in his homeland of Spain.

The Invasion

My APEC Weekend

semi-overcast 20 °C

This weekend was very quiet for me. I tried to keep myself in Newtown as much as possible. The reason behind this was that the APEC meeting had completely taken over Sydney. People were walking around in silence, and it there were police everywhere. It was very unnerving. You could see snipers on the roofs of the buildings, helicopters everywhere, and the army was apparently all through the city as well.

All I really did was catch up with some old friends for dinner. Apart from that it was a chilled out weekend, on my couch watching movies under a warm blanket.

Living Life Again

sunny 18 °C

After a few weeks of feeling like my head was going to explode, my cold has finally subsided. I am not sure why it hit me so hard, but I think that it may be time to go on a little bit of a health kick, just to get my immune system up and running again.

This weekend was an interesting one, starting with an outing with some friends from work on Friday night. We left work just after eight o' clock and headed to Mr Mary's in Redfern. It involved all of us drinking too much and singing Karaoke in front of the bar until very late in the evening.

After that, a quick trip to Flinders Bar in Darlinghurst for a few drinks. After we left the bar, most people went home, but a few of us went back to good old Newtown for a few more drinks. We got to bed at about five in the morning, well and truly mashed.

I spent Saturday just chilling out and watching movies, nothing really exiting, but it's all I could have asked for after the big night on Friday.

On Sunday, we spent the first half of the day lounging around outside, on our new outdoor futon (that we found in a nearby alley), drinking wine and listening to music. In the evening Sen took me to Greenwich, to show me where he grew up. It is a beautiful area, but I would really like to see it during the day.

It feels really nice to be out and about again, and I intend to start my exploration of Sydney again, with heaps more photos.

I'm really Exited!
